See detailed instructions below.\n\nClosing date for entries –Thursday\, 11 May 2023  at 17:00\n\nSTEP 1 (All participants):\nLearne rs need to make sure that they are registered on the www.lichess.org websi te and that they have a username. Many of our learners have already done t his last year\, so they should already be registered. If they haven’t do ne so yet\, they still can.\n\nSTEP 2 (If you are new to the Curro Chess t ournaments and have never played before or if your Lichess username has ch anged):\nEnsure that you are logged into your SA Chess Hub account. If you do not have an account\, register for FREE.\nCarefully read the event det ails and register below. You just need to register once to make a booking for a whole family.\n\nSTEP 3:Joining the team (new participants and if yo u have changed your Lichess username)\nYou will receive a booking confirma tion email from Chess Hub a short while after completing registration. Thi s email will take you to the Lichess platform to ensure that you join the team\, and you can then sign up for your age group’s tournament.\n\nSTEP 4: Joining the Tournament for your age group (All participants)\nOnce acc epted in the team\, the player must click on the tournament link in the bo oking confirmation or return to the Lichess team and click on the appropri ate tournament/section.\n\nSTEP 5:Whatsapp groups have been created for co mmunication (parents\, staff or learners)\nOn the booking confirmation ema il from Chess Hub you will be provided with links to WhatsApp groups for t he Primary School and High School to join as soon as possible.\n\n\nSTEP 6 :\nYou are done! You will receive an email a day before the tournament to remind you to sign up for the tournament but this can be done beforehand.\ n\n \;\n\nOTHER REGULATIONS:\n\n Players may not play in a higher age group.\n All players must be logged into Lichess 60 minutes before the f irst round starts.\n Pairings are done as per the Lichess.org pairing sys tem.\n Players must not log out of the tournament and must be committed t o play all rounds.\n Tie Break –Lichess Sonneborn-Berger\n\nFAIR PLAY\n \n Players may not receive ANY assistance whatsoever\, including from com puters/chess engines or from any other persons (i.e. parents\, coaches\, f riends or siblings).\n Pairings are done as per the Lichess.org pairing s ystem and all regulations in respect to using computer assistance will be strictly monitored.\n Cheating will be monitored by Lichess.org. Any brea ches of Lichess’ terms and services within 48 hours after the event will result in automatic disqualification and investigation.\n Please inform the chief arbiter should you suspect your opponent of breaching the fair-p lay spirit.
