Warm greetings from Chess Western Province.

There is current draft legislation relating to the requirements for all sports coaches to be licensed and accredited. To this end, the recently formed Chess Western Province Coaches Forum, under the auspices of Chess Western Province, is arranging formal and accredited chess coaches training.

Many of our chess coaches are currently active in the Cape Town Metro, Western Cape and even nationally. Many of these coaches have been active for several years but do not have the necessary training licence or have not done any formal coaches training.

Chess Western Province has decided to open the chess coaches training to all but emphasise that it is important to register early to secure entry into the respective training courses.

The chess coaching training will be offered by renowned and accredited FIDE Trainer IM Watu Kobese.

The training course consists of 12 hours and will be conducted online on the following dates:

Level 3: Advanced level
(For participants who have 1800 rating, or who have a level 2 coaching certificate)

Dates: 6-8 November 2020 ( (Friday evening = 3 hours; Saturday = 6 hours; Sunday = 3 hours)
FIDE Trainer: IM Watu Kobese
Cost: R310 per person

Closing date for registration is 20 October 2020
