About Me
My name is Musatwe Simutowe, known simply as “Musa” by my students. I am a passionate and experienced chess coach, Certified Chess Instructor, and International Candidate Master (CM) with a current FIDE rating of 2149. I hold the FIDE Instructor (FI) title and have proudly represented my country in several prestigious international chess tournaments, including the World Chess Olympiad (Baku 2016, Batumi 2018) and the African Individual Chess Championship (Lusaka 2017, Tunisia 2019).
I am the elder brother of Grandmaster Amon Simutowe — the first Grandmaster from sub-Saharan Africa — and chess runs deep in our family. With over 28 years of playing experience and more than 20 years of coaching, I am deeply committed to promoting chess as a tool for cognitive development and personal growth, especially among children and young learners. I am currently based in Dubai, UAE, coaching students internationally. I now coach exclusively online, available to students worldwide via Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google Meet.
