My name is James Wilson, and I am a grade 10 learner from Curro Durbanville High School, for my Science Expo school project I am testing the effect of chess on memory and problem-solving. This study seeks to understand the effects of chess on these aspects of the mind.
I am asking chess players of all ages and skill levels to complete a pre-tournament memory and problem-solving quiz, then compete in a 60 minutes Lichess Arena and then complete a post-tournament memory and problem-solving quiz.
To qualify for the lucky draw prizes, each participant must complete the following steps:
Step 1: Join the following Lichess team: https://lichess.org/team/checkmate-the-mind
Step 2: Complete the following pre-tournament quiz before the start of the tournament: https://form.jotform.com/250951615692058 (the quiz will be opened one hour before the start of the tournament at 17:00)
Step 3: Compete in the Lichess Arena for one hour.
