90 Minute chess training session before the start of tournament on each day

The tournament will be a 6-round individual Swiss Rapid tournament. The time controls for all sections will be 10+5spm.

The tournament will consist of the following sections:

• Under 14 : Players born 2009 or later
• Open : Open to all players. Players under 14 years of age must have a Chess SA rating of 1100+.

 All sections will be Chess SA rated.

 The entry fees for the event is R70 per participant

The closing date for online entries is Thursday, 12 May 2022 at 21h00.

Entries will be limited to a maximum of 50 participants for both the Junior Rapid and Open Rapid tournaments.

Late entries may be accepted after the closing date, subject to payment of a R30 late registration fee.

The Rapid tournaments are scheduled to take place from 11h00 to 15h00.

COMPLIMENTARY CHESS TRAINING

A 90 minute BEGINNER LEVEL CHESS TRAINING SESSION will be presented from 09h00 to 10h30 on Saturday, 14 May 2022 for a maximum of 20 participants. 

A 90 minute INTERMEDIATE LEVEL CHESS TRAINING SESSION will be presented from 09h00 to 10h30 on Saturday, 15 May 2022 for a maximum of 20 participants.
