REGISTRATION & PAYMENT

The closing date for registrations and payment is Mon 19^th Sep at 21h00.
Late entries will be subject to an additional late entry fee of R50 and will be allowed up to 24 hours before the scheduled start time of the first round of the relevant section.
Registration to be made using the South African Chess Hub website and payment to be made via PayFast or EFT.

TOURNAMENT REGULATIONS

All players MUST be WESTERN CAPE CHESS ASSOCIATION registered members.
Meaning: A member of either Cape Winelands, Central Karoo, Eden, Overberg, WP, West Coast
Players wishing to play in a higher section may make submission to the LOC.
Tie Break:
1. Direct encounter
2. Greater number of Victories
3. Buchholz
4. Sonneborn-Berger
Default Time: THERE WILL BE NO DEFAULT TIME FOR ROUND 1.
Rounds 2-6: Championship, Prestige & Open – 15 minutes
Rounds 2-5: Age Groups – 10 minutes
Appeal: An appeal shall be submitted in writing to the CA or TD within 15 minutes of the completion of the specific round in question, accompanied by a fee of R200 (which will be returned if the appeal is successful)
Prize winners must be present at the awards ceremony to receive their prizes. Prize monies will be paid out within 48 hours after conclusion of the event. Prize winners will only qualify for one prize (highest amount).
The LOC reserves the right to waive criteria in all the sections or to cancel the event.

If you selected Payfast payment method you will be taken to the Payfast secure payment page. Complete the payment and you will receive a booking confirmation email a short while after successful payment.
If you opted to pay by EFT, you will receive a “Booking Pending” email with all payment information (i.e. banking details, etc.). Complete EFT payment and email proof of payment to events@chesshub.org.za. Once booking approved you will receive booking confirmation email. Please allow up to 24 hours for approval.
